Curious Penguin
Antarctica, 2014
Tenacity and fearlessness. That’s what it takes for adelie penguins to survive freezing waters, ice storms, and long winters. I wanted to emphasize all the little quirks that make this species so lovable, from its look of perpetual astonishment thanks to the white ring around its eyes to the proud stretch of its little wings. The frozen expanse of a white wasteland stretches behind it; a wild terrain that seems incapable of supporting any life and yet this is where penguins make their home.
