Little Shadow

Norway, 2018

The herring schools in the fjords of Norway draw orcas to its abundant waters. Despite their reputation as “killer whales,” these cetaceans are generally shy and keep to themselves, more interested in the vast quantities of fish than me and my camera. And so I was surprised when this mother brought her calf right by me, gently guiding her baby with her fin as it clung shyly to her side.
